The Fall of Quality

I’ve been a poster on CD for a while now and I can say that the quality of threads have fallen in the FIRST forums drastically. I’ve seen more and more useless topics, but now I’ve seen more ‘my team got screwed by this team’ posts.

Please end these. I think we covered this the other 100000 threads, so we don’t need another one. Talk to the other team about it then don’t post something here.

Please, this is getting old guys.

Something that I’ve noticed is an increase in the number of posts talking about the fall of quality…

Perhaps instead of talking about how your sick of people saying GP is dead, etc… you should go out and set a POSITIVE example that other teams, other posters, and other FIRSTers can follow. Rather than tell everyone to “not post these anymore” (which will never have ANY effect) go out and lead by example. Whenever you see a thread which talks about a lack of GP, share a story which shows GP is alive and well.
Whenever someone posts about how their team got screwed, help them to realize the positive experience they’ve just been through doesn’t necessarily have ANYTHING to do with winning.

Joseph,
You’ve been posting for a while now. I’d expect you to know that setting a positive example works much better than simply telling people what to do.

If you feel strongly about this.
Step up to the plate.

Thanks,

This is what I mean: we are complaining and loosing quality. We need to look on the positive side too, I agree, and I do that, but I think it’s getting hard to do that with all these negative posts.

Joseph,
I’ve attended 2 regionals this year, and will be attending at least one more, and Houston.
The positive experiences and stories coming from these events GREATLY outweighs the negative. The problem is, people have been spotlighting the negative stuff. All I’m asking is for people to being bringing the positive stories into the light.

What is your story?
What act did you see that made you smile?
What team did you notice that truly embodies GP?
What outstanding challenges did you see being overcome?

Rather than ask people to stop talking about the negative, lets just… overpower them with talk of the positive.

I agree with John. I’m tired of all the complaints about the “lack of gracious professionalism” and such. The only way to make it better is to follow GP yourself. Be positive about it, and try to get others to join you, but don’t complain about everyone else not following it.
