In case people don’t know, there will be a competition at the Maryland State Fair. Last year, the powers at be had changed the rules creatively to make the game more interesting. Part of the center barrier had been removed, the stretcher had a completly different role, there were two robots on a field, and the matches were three minutes. Does anyone have any clue what changes will be made this year?

T190 just registered as well… looks like a lot of fun and many new teams to play with…
we can’t wait!
Hmm, WPI is going here also?! Well, will new freshman next year at WPI be able to attend this event and also River Rage on September 7th.
Would you know Colleen? Let me know, I’d be psyched if I am already going to competitions with only 2 weeks in school.
Heheh, I cant wait to get up to WPI… should be awesome.
Hey-
Absolutely! The reason we like to do the competitions early in the year is to get new WPI frosh and new juniors at the academy interested in FIRST. We usually have a huge signup of freshman from WPI at the activities fair (like 150 or so) but then a fall off in attendance of weekly meetings and such cause there isn’t as much going on (lots of demos mostly).
More details are forthcoming, as of right now there is an 8 passenger van going, with first dibs to high schoolers. If that is filled and/or we need extra space, I and prolly some other college students will drive our own cars down, in which case you and other new or old WPI folks can join it.
Once you get to WPI or if you already have your email for there, lemme know and I’ll get you on our mailing list… this goes for anyone coming to WPI in the fall!
Please go to the other MD State fair thread, and answer my question about when you are dropping off your robot.
