The one-liner of 2007 Game

More and more people are asking me what the game is (friends and family). They all know what FIRST is and I just cant figure out a one to three sentence summary of the game. Does anyone have suggestions?

I feel like there is so much to say, I just don’t know how to compress all that into three sentences. I know it’s not necessary for them to know everything, but I just want to get the simple idea across.

It’s bejeweled with rings, but only the innermost ones count.

Tic
Tac
Toe
On
Steroids

A game where robots place inter tubes on a 8x3 octagonal shaped rack. Only the inter most tube counts towards an alliance’s score, and there is a limit of 2 tubes per peg(leg).

They don’t need to know the scoring of it all, and you especially don’t have to go through the headache of trying to explain the concept of a spoiler or keeper. All that will do complicate the whole matter, and drag it into a 5-10 sentence conversation…:ahh:

A connect four game in a cylindrical 3x8 grid . . . dont forget to mention that there are bonus points for getting bots on top of themselves. That really makes the people go “WOAH”

An tic takk toe game of 24 slots in 3 rows, where robots carry tubes and lifr other robots to heights of 12’’ in the end =]

I call it double your ram

I say that, and the ones who knew me two years ago say “Wait, didn’t you already do that?”

My short explanation has become “Tubes go on sticks and bots go on other bots.”

Using robots, you have to place pool toys on long metal poles. You get extra points for lifting up other robots

Think of connect four and tic-tac-toe on a large octagonal structure 3 goals high. Instead, with inner tubes that double the score of rows for each new tube put into that row. One tube is worth 2 points, 2 tubes is worth 4 points, and 3 tubes is worth 8 points, and so on.

How’s that?

Donuts on hat hangers.

That’s the best one so far, IMO. We need something like “Four’s company, five’s a crowd, and six is somebody’s off-sides.”

So, Dave Lavery was hungry when helping design the game…

Now, when isn’t he?
It’s always time for donuts :stuck_out_tongue:

“Here, I have the animation on my jump drive.”

I like the “donuts on hat racks,” and would like to add a, “and robots lifted around 12’”

Pavan.

PS are inches show like this (12") or is it feet?

Rack n’ roll

“Nice Rack.”

Oh, wait, wrong type of one-liner!

(purely joking)
