I just wanted to say that our F.I.R.S.T. National Competition was the best thing that could ever happen to a couple of High School kids interested in robots. We thoroughly enjoyed it! I’d also like to thank our alliances and opponents for making our first National Competition a total BLAST!!!
I also wanted to ask everyone’s opinion of the preformance given by the rookies this year? :yikes:
In conjuction with the thread topic, I’d like to acknowledge the rookie teams that were next to our pit.
Team 1071- Thanks for helping us whenever we needed something and for your alliance. Although we lost that match, it was really nice to meet your team and we had a good time.
To the guys that I talked to about the shirts: I still want one
Team 1027- You did awesome in the Newton division! Also thanks for your help whenever we needed it. You put up an awesome match! (Match #6)
About the team 1027 glowsticks: I don’t know if anyone noticed it, but they glow for a really long time…they’re still glowing and nationals are already over…
Courtney R, Team 1071 and Nicole L, Team 1027: Hope to see you both and your teams again soon!
this years rookies that made it to nationals were quite amazing i’d say. team 1038 caught my attention the most and earned my teams respect by being the only team who beat us friday and saturday in qualifying matches. we picked them for our alliance along with 108 and i feel we had a great alliance. rookies with a dual speed tranny and an excellent tread drive train deserve to be picked
I’ll add three to the list of great 2003 rookies.
1023 - you guys came ready to play. Solid performance at GLR.
1108 - awesome performance, you were a high seed in Archimedes the whole time, and a powerful teammate. We were allied with you twice, and once we got 35 points (our bad entirely) and the other time we got 240! Put these guys on the list of teams to watch out for in the future.
1188 - Rookie All Stars at GLR! Great driving (if you like maniac drivers). Wish you could have been at nationals!
Ken
I’ve got some additions too:
1089- you guys were awesome alliance partners at Rutgers. Too bad 25 wouldn’t let us win for the glory of BMS LOL. Too bad there weren’t three rookie all star awards; you guys really deserved one.
1156- I’m glad you guys chose to come all the way up to New Jersey! I hope you liked it here! You guys are an awesome! You all were super nice despite the language barrier, I hope to see you again next year!
