As 1425’s head scout for three years I can say that managing people in the stands was by far the hardest part of my job.

For us we have a tiered “super scout” system I guess you could say, and I have been at the top of it for the last 3 years. Besides managing the other super scout tasks and the scouters and strategists, I was responsible along with the other two super scouts for identifying the best possible alliance partners, informing the drive coach of teams who would be difficult to beat, and formulating new strategies to maximize our scoring potential. There were more things, but those were the main one. Only other notable is that I would scout the five most recent matches for every team at an upcoming competition, so that we could have a preliminary match strategy made up by the time we got the at comp data ready.
