The Thrifty Bot - Product Releases & Updates

Dan -

I’m ordering a digital tachometer to do some better testing, but I created a simple bench setup this weekend. I ran a Mini-CIM with a 12:30 reduction gearbox hooked up to a 24v lithium drill battery that I had available and got up to around 2000 - 3000 RPM and ran for over a full match time continuously. The shaft was slightly warm to the touch but not hot, the nylon bushings looked good still as well after this test.

I also ramped up to 8-9000 RPM and ran that for about 45 seconds. The thunderhex shaft did get hot to the touch after this test, but the bushing seems to have handled it for that amount of time. I personally would not recommend running a shaft in them at this high of a speed.

I’m still going to do more testing and add to this album as I have time but I wanted to give you some feedback sooner rather than later: https://photos.app.goo.gl/s6hU3HmQrcYge9o26
