**sorry to be the bearer of statistcal truth…
You folks seeded 31st… not too great of a showing. But you did get picked for alliances which is always good. (We didn’t :(). I looked through the scores you guys had and they all were rather low. I havn’t seen matches so I don’t know how well you were really pushing people around, but it seems like it didn’t help you much.**
Umm yeah… perhaps you didnt see the Cheesy Poofs showing at SVR. their scores were rather low, and they lost most of their matches, and they were seeded 40th out of 46th and they won, so that shows you statistics dont mean squat.
We didn’t have a wedge but we were very low, strong, and fast so we flipped a bunch of robots anyway. Anyone who was at Phoenix can let you know all about it. We seeded 3rd and made it to the second round of semifinals.
Thank you to those of you who have congratulated us on the chairman’s award.
I am eagerly looking forward to the nationals, especially to see how the wedge performs there. I just hope that the judges don’t yell at me for pushing with the wedge as I have heard has been the case in some places.
and with regards to:
statistics dont mean squat.
I am in complete agreement with you Cory. There are too many variables, especially the alliance members, that determine the outcome of a match. It is difficult to base a robot’s effectiveness on scores.
