Theoretical Max?

What is the theoretical max of Crescendo?

during the match I am unsure because I think that the only limit is how fast you can get game pieces into the scoring rings but for the endgame I think you can get a max of 33, 15 from trap, 12 from being onstage and spotlit, and 6 from harmony (if you can get three robots on one chain). for auto (without picking up a second game piece) you can get 6 from leaving, and 15 from speaker notes for a total of 21. so 54 max from auto + endgame

Assuming by some miracle you can get 133 rings into the amplified speaker, it would be 76 for auto, 667(133 5 points and 2 1 points) for main teleop, and 18(no trap 6 harmony points and 12 spotlight) for endgame with spotlight so 761 points total

You can only get two from harmony it doesn’t add up.

Harmony is 2 points per robot, apparently. Unless they clarify I’d assume so.

Yeah it’s 6.5.2 I was wrong it is per additional robot

I’m gonna go with the fun theoretical max - one where you get full cooperation with the opposing alliance, you can shoot notes extremely quickly, and the physical devices counting the notes can actually count the notes that quickly.

In Auto - every bot drives across the line and two notes are scored in the amp. The number of notes scored in the speaker is irrelevant since it’s the same as an amplified note in teleop. 10 points total.
In Teleop - you amplify and score 102 notes within that 10 second window. 510 points total.
In Endgame - you score the remaining 3 notes in the traps and you have 3 spotlit robots with two harmony bonuses. 31 points total.

So the theoretical game and physics breaking max would be 551 points.

Where are the extra rings coming from? Section 6.3.4 only shows 107 rings on/around the field eligible to be scored.

There is a limited number of game pieces, so that raises the question, what is the max score?

Well, thats complicated. I calculated it if every single note on the field was scored on one side, including ones in the other alliance’s human player station. I also assumed that the robots could score 1 piece per second each during the Amplified periods. My total score was 508 points.

Is this useful? No.

If your alliance is going to score all the NOTES and not allow the opponents to score any, there’s no point in having that odd NOTE scored in the AMP for Coopertition.

And for that matter, if we’re being totally theoretical, you could theoretically score 2 in the AMP, and then score the remaining 88 in the SPEAKER in the next 10 seconds. I did say theoretically.

Imagine spending months collaborating with five other teams to somehow pull of this physically dubious miracle, then mess up your spotlight at the end

Since this is theory, I didn’t use score/second. I got this:

Leave: 2 per robot - 6
Auto: 2 in Amp - 4
Tele: 102 (edited: used to say 105) in amplified speaker - 510
End: 3 in trap - 15
2 additional robots in harmony - 4
3 onstage and spotlit - 12

Total: 551 (edited: used to say 566)

All in the 10 seconds while the speaker is amplified?

Yeah! Although, I guess you could use the full 14.5(*) seconds

(*) It takes roughly 1.5 seconds for the first shot to process according to the field videos, and there is a 3 second grave period after amplification that is also counted

The more realistic max is only about 220, as long the opposing Alliance aren’t complete butter-fingers and don’t hand you all of their notes.

A new theoretical max exists now that each amplification period can only accept 4 amplified speaker shots.

I see 3 scenarios to try and maximize points (theoretically - this will definitely not happen in a real match):

ALL
Leave: 2 per robot - 6
Harmony: 2 additional robots - 4
Onstage: 3 robots spotlit - 12
Total: 22

AUTO AMP STRAT:
Auto Amp: 2 notes - 4
Auto Speaker: 9 notes - 45
Tele Speaker/Amp cycles: 4 in the speaker, then 2 in the amplifier using 94 notes (ending with 4 amplified speaker shots)- 350
Trap: 2 leftover notes - 10
Total including “ALL”: 431

NO AUTO AMP STRAT:
Auto Speaker: 11 notes - 55
Tele Amp/Speaker cycles using 96 notes (ending with 4 amplified speaker shots) - 352
Total including “ALL”: 429

MAXIMIZE TRAP:
Auto Speaker: 11 notes - 55
Tele Amp/Speaker cycles using 90 notes (ending with 4 amplified speaker shots) - 330
2 Amps and 1 amplified speaker shot using 3 of the remaining notes - 7
Trap: 3 notes - 15
Total including “ALL”: 429

Can the opposing alliance collude to pass you their six auto notes? That’ll replace one speaker/amp cycle and squeeze out 8 more points for you

I suppose, but they are already giving us all of their source notes. Should we really be asking them for more?!

They’ll do it for the clout.

Also, i think your math on note points is wrong. Should be 2 amp notes for 1 point each and 4 speaker notes for 5 points each, for 22 points each cycle. 96 notes is 16 cycles for a grand total of 352. If the first cycle includes auto amp notes then it’s 354. Unless I’ve missed something?

Edit - I see it’s adding cumulatively on some lines

Good catch. I fixed the lines to not be sporadically cumulative… I had it all in a spreadsheet, so the totals all made sense, but my breakdowns were incorrect. Thanks!
