FIRST North Carolina is proud to once again present it’s fall off-season events: THOR and Doyenne Inspiration. Both events will have an East and a West division, competing on consecutive weekends in September. The THOR events will take place on Saturday and the Doyenne events will take place on Sunday in the same locations.
THOR is now in it’s 11th season, drawing the best teams from across the FNC district and beyond to play the Charged Up game for fun, glory, and the right to wield the Hammer of THOR. Is your team worthy?
THOR East will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, NC, hosted by team 7443 Overhills Jag-Wires.
THOR West will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at Mountain Island Charter School, Mount Holly, NC, hosted by team 6894 Iced Java.
Full details and registration information can be found here.
Doyenne Inspiration is about empowering young female and nonbinary students through the FIRST Robotics Competition to become engineers, computer scientists, and STEM leaders. All high-school students who identify as female and nonbinary are invited to participate. Participants may register as teams or as individuals.
Doyenne East will be held on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, NC, hosted by team 7443 Overhills Jag-Wires, 5190 Green Hope Falcons, 2642 Pitt Pirates and 3737 RotoRaptors.
Doyenne West will be held on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 at Mountain Island Charter School, Mount Holly, NC, hosted by team 6894 Iced Java.

We don’t have word on that yet. As @David_IsMe said, they have not traditionally been streamed most years. However, we did arrange to have THOR East and Doyenne streamed last year (and the match videos subsequently added to Blue Alliance, though the playoff matches aren’t included there since they weren’t ready for the new playoff format yet) and hope to have all the events streamed this year. I’ll update this thread when we know more and make sure that the Blue Alliance listing for these events has the stream data attached if they are.
The 2022 FiMstein field was strange because there were 3 of us with that name associated with the teams. One on 3322 and then my son and I on 5090 talk about weird coincidence
We (the GearCats) had a great time at Thor East and Doyenne East! Thanks to the Jag-Wires, the THOR/Doyenne teams and everyone on the First NC team for putting this together.
Since only a portion of our team could go, does anyone know if the matches and data will be posted on the Blue Alliance at some point? The livestream was great but we’d like to show off the performance during future team meetings.
Thanks
Ben
One of our team parents was going to try to record the stream. If they managed it, I’ll be cutting out and posting the match videos on our YouTube channel. The match data is something that has to be posted either to FIRST (which is where Blue Alliance scrapes it from) or by sending the raw files to Blue Alliance. If FIRST NC didn’t do these things, then that won’t be posted on Blue Alliance.
It looks like I only have a capture of the THOR East stream at this time. I should be editing and posting videos this week, so I’ll keep this thread updated on what I have as that goes on.
I have finished my edits and now have the playlist for THOR East up on the Titanium Tigers YouTube channel. It has qualification matches 6-34, alliance selection, and playoff matches 1-12. Unfortunately, there were problems with the stream recording and I don’t have video of qualification matches 1-5, playoff match 13, or the finals matches. If anyone else has video of these matches, let me know and I’ll add them to the playlist (or if you haven’t put them up on YouTube, send them to me and I’ll publish them.)
