Thoughts about the Pre-recorded Broadcast

I’m really enjoying the pre-recorded stream and the interview session with Will and Dean. The subtitles are a blessing and I feel like we are getting to see a much better version of Dean here.

I’m curious what other people are thinking and if they like this version of Kickoff as opposed to the old format.

I miss the old format, but a lot of that has to do with going to the in-person Kickoff in Manchester.

I looooved the pre-recorded version. I was really happy with there being subtitles. I watch it in re-streamed Turkish(because I am restreaming it with simultaneous Turkish and Sign Language Translators), and as Turkish isn’t my native language, the subtitles made my day.

Game reveal at 25 minutes after broadcast start. It practically caught me by surprise.

This isn’t necessarily a feature of the pre-record vs. live, but I felt like we saw way less cheesy time-filling content this year. That was refreshing.

There were no countdowns, pretends that the countdowns weren’t working, bad jokes, etc. It felt like a more serious (less infantile) broadcast, but was still fun to watch.

Of course, I missed some f the Danny Downer jokes, but having Fiona and Nate efficiently run through the whole field was a better use of time, and we still got to see some humanity.
