Thrifty Elevator Onshape Import Elevator with configured settings not default settings

Hello,

The Thrifty Elevator has an Onshape CAD: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/22e2ad8911cd656607149f33/w/bac2881b97fe0d50d38ce4b0/e/5ac06b58bb13a70f6d3766d6?renderMode=0&uiState=636bf372b5f9112af98b34b6

Our team made a copy of it here and configured the first stage of the elevator to be 34" long instead of 48" (which is the default): https://cad.onshape.com/documents/55797c8f7b6426e46269d790/w/6853dadc391db2a71354e139/e/3eca1728b76a0cc86b772d9f

When we imported this elevator into another CAD document, the elevator’s first stage is still 48". We tried importing a variable studio into this document, but couldn’t figure out how to do so.

How can we resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

You should be inserting the Assembly into the new document.

A typical file structure has one file of the assembly you made a copy of (TTB Elevator) and one higher level assembly. Configure the elevator on the copy, then insert the copied assembly into the higher level document.

Thanks! We realized we meant to type insert instead of import in the question above. However, we also realized we inserted the elevator incorrectly—before we inserted the configurable elevator, we didn’t press the button that allowed us to use the newest version of the Thrifty Elevator Copy.
