I was wondering if anyone tabulated the amount of hours there team spent working on the robot. If so post replies to this thread. Our total hours is somewhere in the area of 1100. I will update when I know for sure.
we made logs, so we might be able to find out. not sure how accurate they are though.
Total man hours? Or each person’s man hours…
wow, i don’t know. i had a log for the first 4 weeks, and i think it’s at least 200 hrs. i think most of the rest of the team had more hours than i did, cuz they worked every weekend. hmmm…i still need to log my hours for the past two weeks. thanks for reminding me ;). i guess i’ll post again when i’ve figured out for sure, but it’s a big number…
Well, lets see, just in the last “day”:
5 people x 36 hours = 180 hours
add that to the rest of the six weeks and it makes me tired just thinking about it.
Add in that I my paying job has to do with FIRST…hhmmmm
our team tracks hours for the 6 weeks… i believe my hours were somewhere around 450+ from kickoff to shipping. scary stuff…
this is how our time spent on the robot has broken down as of JAN 5 to FEB-21
students: 1150 hrs
mentors (including myself)710 hours
1860 total hours (not including time spent my the machinist doing work that we dont have the machines to do
dahl
I am looking for total hours spent by everyone just building the robot not the many other things that had to be done. Like I said in the original post I will have to check the with my records but am am sure I am a little low. As sleep (or lose of) became a factor in the final days.
i am not sur how many hours my whole team has added up but i know that i have somewhere around 190hrs, in the 6 weeks!
and anyway sometimes other kids would come but they wouldn’t do anything but playwallball outside and blame it on us because “we didn’t tell them what to do”
has anybody else expirianced this kinda problem with their team?
our team has been working so hard this season, we have meetings at BAE SYSTEMS everyday after school at 5:30 until whenever. During the last 2 weeks people were staying at BAE until 3:30 in the morning! I think the latest was 4:30, but I am not perfectly sure.
We worked non-stop on the last night before we unveiled to the public. the night before our mechanical team worked their butts off to finish the bot for our electrical team. The next day half of our electrical team missed school to havve the bot operational for that night, talk about commitment!

I personally worked (at the machine shop) for about 330hrs. Then all the time making CAD drawings and looking at the CD website. Lots of time spent but a lot of fun w/o sleep!

yup.
Well, about 190 hours here too.
I had about 400 hours. Our team total had well over 10,000 man hours by week 5. This is mainly because we are lucky enough to have our own shop so we do all of our own manufacturing. This, however leads to us messing up froquently and having to remake time comsuming parts.
