TIMS Team Rosters for Michigan??

Part of a previous notice on the FIRST website:

New Updated 12/22/09 - Are you attending a Michigan District Event?

Team mentors and students attending the Michigan District Events should complete a hard copy Consent and Release Form this season. This Form now covers the attendee at any FIRST event this season: Kickoff, District Event, a Regional event, the Michigan State Championship and the FIRST Championship in Atlanta. You only need to fill this form in one (1) time and bring it with you to your Kickoff. If you are not attending a Kickoff, bring it with you to your first season event. You may access this form at form at www.firstinmichigan.org.

Note: If you are a student team member that has already entered your information in the FIRST Student Team Members and Parent/Legal Guardian Information System and completed an electronic Consent and Release Form, we ask that you download the form at the above link, complete, and bring it to your Michigan Kickoff event in addition to having completed the electronic form. Again, if you are not attending a Kickoff with your team, please bring to your initial District Event.

We apologize for the late change, but hope this change makes things overall easier for Michigan participants. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

From a FIRST email today:

IMPORTANT – Team Main or Alternate Contacts of teams attending a Kickoff must print out their Team Roster from TIMS and bring it with them (along with any hard copy Consent and Release Forms.). Click here for instructions: http://usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=16135.

(No exclusion here for Michigan teams)

Question: Do Michigan teams need to complete their team roster in TIMS or can we just bring a hard copy of the Consent and Release Form for each participant?

As far as I can tell, we can just bring the hard copies. Since you can always bring a hard copy if someone didn’t fill out the online version, bringing all hard copies theoretically wouldn’t be a problem. I will be printing out the roster in TIMS and adding all of the hard copy names by hand.

Don’t worry, you won’t be alone if you bring mostly hard copies.

Team contacts received an email from FiM last evening.

Each team needs to bring hard copies of the Consent and Release forms for all in attendance, and bring a hard copy of the completed “2010 Members and Mentors Roster” spreadsheet that was attached to the email.
