To Remove or not to Remove..that is now the Question?

There has been questions raised oner two rules. The first rule says that if the trailer is tipped its point is reserved…howver, another rule says that the number of balls left at the end of the match will be counted…could someone please clear this up?
second of all there is questions about the removal of balls from the trailer, is it legal to do?

So then what happens if you tip over with a full thing of balls, then you have all those points reserved for you, and then the balls are back in play for others to score on?

Yea i was wondering about that too.

I would assume that if it gets tipped over, you get those points. that was my understanding of it.

you can not reach inside the trailer, i can’t remember which rule, but it’s there.

interest question… It would seem that the balls in the trailer would be counted then they would re-enter play allowing you to score with them again…

ya, but then again, who could count that… It’s something that will happen so fast that no one would be able to count them all before they leave the trailer…

I almost think FIRST will have to have some kind of tracking devise built into the balls, or some kind of counting devise on the trailers other wise they couldn’t count the number of balls activily to display a score, if they were to display a score…

The refs will be counting them as they go in, for the real time score display on the big screen.

I don’t know if that was scarcasm, but no, they gave us a ball, they will not modify it. and they gave us the directions on how to make the trailer, they won’t build it differently and mess everyone up

oh, I get it. That makes sense.

possibly score more than 360?

ya, that doesn’t make sense, they said the max was 360, but if a trailer tips, you get the points and the balls are still in play, however, would all those balls fit into the remailing 2 trailers?

Yea i dunno how thats gonna work. I mean if you had a way to intentionally tip yourself over when you had a full trailer, not in FIRST tradition i know and as a disclaimer i am in no way saying that i would do this just making a point, then you could lock in your score, and provide more balls onto the field for the other robots use. And make a road-block.

And if you think, with the ice a road-block might actually be useful if the robot was already going in that direction. They’d have to turn around which is probably going to be difficult.

well you can’t intentionally tip it, and I think people would catch onto it if you did it every match… I wouldn’t make that a strategy…

<G32> says intentionally tipping a trailer may result in a penalty and a DQ.

ouch… DQ would be nasty… but then again “intentionally” has a lot of meanings… you might not be trying to but it happens… especially with these highspeed collisions.

besides, I don’t think this is a good strategy, because then you can’t be playing defence, at least with a bot and trailer filled with balls, you can stop others from scoring…

Thats why i had my little disclaimer saying that I’m not planning on doing it for the reason that its not in the FIRST tradition.

Just trying putting my thoughts out there.

good ideas yall but we need to refocus this discusion it is impossible to trak these balls…they are everywhere and if a trailer tips it will mix in with everything else…so that means that someone is counting…but i feel as though their will be changes to this rule.
