Triple Helix had the opportunity to beta test REV’s MAXSwerve modules this fall. We want to share this tech tip with anyone planning to use these modules. Because of the unique way they mount to the frame rails, any chips generated by drilling into the rail tubing can be deposited directly into the swerve module gearing. Take measures to cap your drive rail tubes to keep FOD from damaging the gears.

Good tip!
In general, I would also recommend that if you’re bolting across a tube like this to put some sort of spacer in there anyway to avoid deformation from over tightening the bolts - seems like a great double purpose for a 3d printed part.

Thank you so much for beta testing and providing these insights! 6045 will be using these modules (if the game allows), and this type of information will potentially save our season.

Glad to be of help!
FOD? I thought you had to pay extra for that?
