Trouble Communicating with Wireless Radio

We have an OM5P-AC radio for our robot that we cannot communicate with. It is assumed that the radio has not been flashed, although we do not know for certain. We are running Ethernet from the RoboRIO, and power from the VRM. We have another Ethernet cable running from the radio to the computer, but the computer doesn’t have an Ethernet port, so we are using the Ethernet-USB adapter from the Kit of Parts. Everything in our robot came from the Kit of Parts.

When we try to “load firmware” on the FRC Radio Configuration tool, it returns an error about NPF name.

Another question is what we need to do for the competition. What firmware needs to be on the router for competition use?

Thanks for any help you can give us!

Make sure you have this years radio configuration utility installed, this year it was a separate download/install package.

Turn off any wireless network interfaces you may have turned on, on your laptop.

You need to image the radio from the firmware in the radio configuration utility. You can also do it at competition before you load your software keys from the radio kiosk.

Report back if you get it to work and what you had to do to fix it.

I recall I had to disable my wireless adapters in Windows before it would work.
