Made a post about the cad a couple weeks ago here are a couple pictures of the progress. Check out the Facebook page
Davison House of Cards - FRC Team 3534
for more details.
Is that four intakes that I see? and the turret rotates to collect the note from any of them?
Looks really cool. Can’t wait to see it in action!!
I…I don’t know what to say…
This is something i wouldve thought was from 2481.
Cant wait to see it in action!
Woah! I’d love the see this thing go! What an absolute unit.
Yes 4 intakes and a turret this is our practice robot we hope to hand over to programmers early this week and we start building the competition robot with 100% more powdercoat
What in the robot IS this thing?
Your team saw the kickoff video this year and said this was the solution?
Haha, messing around, I love unusual robots and this certainly is unusual. Can’t wait to see it in action.
Crazy house of cards creation, love it.
Vids.
Now.
I am excited to see this in action at Kettering Week 2! Any insight on what you are doing software-wise to know how to rotate the intake? Do you have some way to know which intake the note is in or is it up to the operator to align the turret to the proper intake?
Turret! Is an understatement here.
Wish I could see it in person.
Any plans to climb?
On one hand I’m excited, but on the other I’m terrified
Can’t wait to find out which one I should be!
Team up
Yes 4 intakes, note pops up into the slot. We call it a 4 slice toaster. Will have proximity sensors to know which slot it is in, along with torque sensing. Turret has a highly geared Falcon, the encoder will give us the 4 indexing set points to transfer the note from toaster to shooter. We plan for 2 turns of rotation of the turret and hope to shoot on the fly. But can simply backup to one of the 4 indexed positions and rely on the elevation to target only. We do have a simple climber, just not on the practice bot yet. It fits along the perimeter of the upper frame rail to clear the turret. We are enjoying the central control tower for electronics in the middle. Keeping it fun!
Very cool! Love it!
A lot of our design choices were based off of your 2017 and 2022 robots. We like the way you build robots and we always enjoy competing with you.
When this game was released I was convinced that there were only going to be like 3 kinds of robots, and I have never been more wrong in my life.
Last year was good for variety, this year is shaping up to be even better.
The team before you must have been apart of one of those “Would you like two intakes or would you like to double it and pass it on?” challenges…
Love the design can’t wait to see it in action, flattered to hear you took inspiration from our 2017 and 2022 robots! If you guys need help with anything please don’t hesitate to reach out!
