My first question is is it okay to reinstall driver station? My team was unable to connect to a robot but when we tried with an older laptop with an older driver station it worked fine. I was concerned about the completely blank versions and info section that appears on this year’s version. Picture below:
My second question is if the older version works, can my team use that for an upcoming offseason competition?
It is totally okay to reinstall if you need to. Your issue may revolve around how your RIO is configured and what version of all the software you are using. Maybe try to reinstall all of the software packages again to get the latest version? I don’t really know it’s just the general programmer’s advice that most of the time works like magic
That area isn’t filled in until there is roboRIO communications so address that problem. See if you can match the newer PC network setup with the old that works for you. Following the FRC network troubleshooting instructions is the easiest place to start.
