Unbelievable time at West Michigan!

Wow! What an increadible weekend! The finals were the most exciting, emotionally charged times I’ve ever seen. There were some great robots and amazing plays. I would like to thank team 66 for giving us rookies a chance, team 45 for all the help they’ve given us over this last year, team 111 for their friendliness and rookie award, and our other great alliance partners 74 and 302. Everyone made this weekend one of the best ever for us. It sure was a long one though, as we struggled a little to begin with. I thought the team 66 alliance had the victory wrapped up, but leave it up to Hammond to come out and set a new high score for the win. I can’t wait for our next competition at the Motorola Midwest Regional in two weeks. Thanks again to everyone and hope you all have a great time and good luck throughout the rest of the season!

all i can say about 535 is man what an incredible rookie. it was awesome to play with such a skilled team. You have a great robot and a great team. Thanks to 66 for picking us as an alliance partner. I can’t wait for the midwest regional either. It was a pleasure working with you, and we’ll see you in a week and a half

First of all, my hat goes off to Beatty (71) for their amazing robot, they do it all. They also taught us the importance of balancing 2 goals from off the bridge. I believe at the later regionals & nationals, balancing from on the bridge will work in the seeding rounds, but you’ll need to balance from off if you want to win in the elims.

The past few weeks whenever I saw people thanking their elim alliance partners for a job well done, the cynic in me assumed it was people playing politics, which is an aspect of FIRST that I despise. But after going through the whole process I know that people were truly grateful, as am I. Thanks to teams 66 & 74 (esp Geoff & Melissa) for looking beyond our poor ranking & realizing our potential for some big scores (my prediction Friday night was right, that if 74 was a top 8 team, we’d be paired up with them). Thanks to 66 for their goal handling, 74 & 535 for never failing to put the big ball on the goals, and 302 for being ready to take over and for cheering us on. I hope to see all 4 of you again in FL. And thanks to all the teams for making WMR the most exciting regional so far this year.

Hey, it was fun to give the alliance of 71, 33, 85, 301, and 1 a run for their money. Congratulations to the champions.
