Underwater Robotics Competition.

Thanks to Gail (team1885), for directing me to the SEAPerch underwater robot competition being held at GMU last weekend.

Excuse me if I get the details wrong, but basically SEAPerch is the name of the program, and the name of the little PVC robot that got the program started. See “Build your own Underwater Robot” by Harry Bohm and Vickie Jenson.

Seems that the local School System incorporated lessons in designing and building simple underwater robots into one of their Engineering Classes, and culminated the semester with this cool competition at George Mason University.

My hat is off to Gail and her team of volunteers. Extremely nice job!!!

Rather than trying to explain it… here’s a short video of the fun the kids had.
Gail looked EXTREEMELY busy at the event.
