We’re having trouble with a very strange (and seemingly undocumented) blink code on two of our brand-new SparkMax. We’re getting a slow red blink on and off flash, that seems to be nowhere in the official documentation.
In addition to this, the SparkMax fails to appear via USB, CAN, or to control an actual motor. We’re quite puzzled by all of this and we’re wondering if anyone else has heard about this error.
Just to confirm, do you have it connected to anything other than USB in that video? Motor? PDP/PDH? If so, be sure to test it not connected to anything else.
You’re right that it seems to be undocumented. Given that it doesn’t show up in the REV Hardware Client and is showing an undocumented (at least not publicly) status code, I’d contact REV support.
Yes, apologies that it’s not clear in that video, but the SparkMax has been tested plugged into power from the PDP, and connected to multiple different NEO 550s and NEOs. In that particular video, it’s connected to nothing but USB. In every case, however, it has given this same blink code. We’ll definitely be reaching out to REV support about this, but we were just wondering if anyone else had seen this.
