Yeah. But, it isn’t just the editing – it’s directing, lighting, videography, sound editing, post production, scripts, etc… The production quality in some of those videos is incredibly high, and that’s not because a team happened to have a few student members with a knack for it.
A Pop-Tart is a sandwich.
Dead wrong.
Diabolical Dynamics is where it’s at, followed by Recycle Rush.
What is diabolical dynamics??? I agree though Recycle Rush is definitely best game.
4vclock, the faster you stop the clock the higher the multiplier on your points.
(There’s a reason I put it in here… it’s widely regarded amongst the old-timers as even worse than Recycle Rush.)
Wait actually? No wonder I don’t remember it (nevermind the fact that it was from before I was born)
This is a “cool CNC powder coated robot is mentor built!!!1!!11!!” take
Hey, man, you know those are actually popular, right? Seems like there’s at least one a season.
@BriFRC Yep, actually. https://www.firstinspires.org/sites/default/files/uploads/resource_library/frc/game-and-season-info/archive/frc-game-summaries-1992-2012.pdf
Too bad I can’t seem to find TechnoKats History Project any more…
I honestly agree with this too lol
Mecanum robots make great 3rd robots
There should be a discount placed on some teams’ (like 254’s) OPRs. Not all districts play hard defense … 1771 and 2974 battled to get their numbers as high as they are. With all due respect to 254.
Imo any team that has a higher opr than my team didn’t face good defense and/or was cheating
Whoa whoa – this is the place for unpopular opinions. This here is a universally held belief!
“How to go from winning events to losing events in 4 easy steps”
I dont know if it’s unpopular, but I think that the robot should be driven by one person. I think 1 person can always think faster than 2 that have to communicate.
I understand having 2 to increase student involvement, but I think the competitive choice is only 1.
It’s better to be 5th alliance captain rather than 4th if you can find better 2nd picks, because you can easily take teams that the 4th seed desires.
Considering the video is not judged as part of the submission (only used for the purposes of showing the audience when you win), I don’t see an issue with outsourcing. It’s all about using your resources. But I’ve never known a team to outsource, and I’ve worked with several chairman’s teams over the years.
Can your provide specific examples of this happening? I can say, as a team who prides themselves on High video production quality, but was still produced by students, I hope you’re not just making assumptions. Even if it’s true, if a team has access to a video producer and can learn from the process of using them, what is the issue?
Batman is overrated
Strobe lights are the best and should be used at every event
