Updates on Colorado Off-Season Events?

I’d like to know if there have been any developments on starting a Colorado competition for the fall; I know team 159 was looking at the possibility of hosting, and a lot of local teams are interested in participating.

My team, 1339, is planning on hosting off-season training sessions beginning in the fall for interested Denver-area teams. We are centrally located at East High School, close to downtown Denver. These will begin in September. I have also heard from other teams in the front range that are interested in hosting or contributing to training events.

Colorado is on the brink! Let’s work together to make this next year the most successful ever.

Colorado showed some incredible progress this year. Here are some facts:

Last year, no Colorado team got past the semis of any regional besides Colorado. This year, an all Colorado alliance made it to the finals of the Utah Regional.

Also, this year was the first year in many that both finalist alliances in the Colorado Regional were captained by Colorado teams. That’s a big cause for celebration.

Finally, last year only one Colorado team made it into divisional eliminations at the Championship out of the five or six that attended. This year, five of the twelve that qualified for the Championship made it.

I think some training sessions and other offseason related events will be enough to get more Colorado teams on the board next year. (Maybe one will finally get to the Einstein Field!) And I’d be down with an offseason competition in Colorado. Sounds cheaper than traveling to Kansas City for CowTown.

True; however, you guys always bring a great robot to the event which livens up the competition and makes it more interesting for all parties involved. We really missed not having you guys there last year. Hopefully we see you guys here in the fall?

Hey guys! 159 is still planning on hosting an off-season event this year. I’m getting a committee of members of 159, 4388, and 4499 together to start planning it. We won’t really have more details until we start meeting which will be early June due to end of school chaos. But I can tell you that it will be held at Poudre High School in Fort Collins (probably) and that due to the amount of time needed to plan for the event it will likely occur during the fall of this year. I’ll echo what Mr. Noble said, let’s use this year to put Colorado on the map!

Just wanted to give everyone an update as I have been quiet about this lately. I was struggling to get times with the school but I finally made progress today. I don’t have a date yet, but now I know I’m going to be able to get one. I’ll update again when I have a date.

Hmmmmm… Fort Collins in October. I’m going to add this to my calendar as a possible event for Jersey Voltage. Awesome to see FRC expanding with new off season events.

We’d love to have you. We’re actually having an important meeting about it tonight that will determine whether or not it actually happens.

If you’re maybe coming could I convince you to drive a field?
