Hello All;

I would have posted this over at ‘rumors’, but it isn’t a rumor.

It appears that US Airways may be going on strike 25 March. If this
occurs, and if it isn’t settled by April 5th, how many teams will be
affected by this?

Anyone making alternative transportation plans?

We are having MAJOR problems. US AIR is the major carrier to Florida out of Rochester. We have 70 non-refundable tickets on USAIR and have been working with our travel agency to get alternate plans. The problem is that there are no open flights into Orlando. For a while we were looking at a round trip 30 hour bus ride each way. Another possibility still is flights into Atlanta and then get a bus from Atlanta to Orlando. We are in the process of getting flights into Daytona. Some of the tickets are costing us $600 instead of $180. We have spent more hours than I can count getting this resolved. We are currently still holding onto the USAIR tickets in hopes this will get resolved before the 5th.

Whatever it takes, we will get to Florida.

what about going to other airports??

just cause i know i mentioned this before, but we have a really cool airline, Midway Airlines (kinda little child company of American Airlines) and the only fly the east coast. We got round trip tickets to Orlando from Boston for $193… they had several available flights that wednesday, and very likely still have some left (we had reserved 40 seats and just gave up over 10 of them just on our flight)… they may fly out of an airport closer to you too…

maybe your travel agent has already checked, we highly recommend them though… everything’s worth a try at this point… best of luck to you!!!

I know that my team is planning to fly by US Airways and our backup plan is to go by train. The tickets are cheaper although it’ll be a longer trip. I’d check with them to see if tickets are available.
