Using Plastic peg Board for Wiring Board

I’m the lead wiring person for my team and had the thought of getting plastic peg board to be the base of our teams wiring board. However one of the mentors pointed out that static could build up in the plastic and could damage sensors or other electrical systems. Is their any recommendations on preventing static build up?

Although I do not agree that static will be an issue, as you need a rubbing or frictional motion for static to form, there are anti-static coatings as sprays that can be spritzed occasionally that will dissipate any buildup. Electronics stores have this, used for old-school CRT monitor screens and the like.
