is it possible?
Technically? Yes.
Against the FIRST rules? Yes.
See rule <R78>.
I will be more conservative than Mike D.:
Possible: No.
Against the rules: Yes.
Why I say not possible: Neglecting stall current for a second, the FP motors are 407W at peak power. That is 34A but are protected by a 20A CB. Even if the rules allowed it, your life would be miserable if you use a spike with a FP motor.
You can always just program your victor to max teh fischer price out forward or backwards and hook it up to a two direction switch. If this would simplify the control of whatever you’re doing for the operator then sure give it a go.
That is what I would do. It gives you more options later too if you decide you want speed control also. The only problem is that as you are from a rookie team you may not have enough victors. But assuming this is why you want to hook the FP motor to a spike really there is nothing you can do about it, you will probably just have to get more victors.
