I’ve been thinking of the containers as multipliers. Outside of edge cases like this, placing a container on top of a stack of gray totes effectively multiplies the value of each tote by 3.
I think you missed the part where you can’t stack totes higher than the backstops. That effectively limits you to stacks of 6.
So 24 points per container + 6 if it has litter in it.
