Mark Your Calendars!
On October 29th, The Robotics Club at VCU is hosting the fourth annual FIRST Robotics Pre-Season Workshops. Sessions include beginning and advanced programming, electronics & hardware, pneumatics, design theory, 3D Studio, Autodesk Inventor, motors and drivetrain, and a special all-day “Rookie Workshop” which will give an overview of most of the previous topics as well as have a team forum for rookies to learn from veteran First-ers, Fundraising Workshops, and much more.

The Workshops are open to anyone – students and mentors – but is specifically geared towards teams around the vicinity of the VCU Regional.

Information can be found at www.virginiafirst.org. Just click on the workshops link at the bottom of the page.

For additional information, please contact Gabriel Goldman at [email protected].

As I am kinda in on some of this, I would also like to comment that VCU students are also invited to these workshops and, especially, to a meeting October 26th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, lunch povided. This meeting will be to dicuss what VCU students can do to help our regional and promote FIRST. If you are interested, please RSVP to Gabriel Goldman at [email protected] so we know how much food to bring and if we need to move to a bigger room.

616 will be there. The new rookie class should be interesting to some people…

Any word on where it is, or should I just email Gabe?

I think it will be in the engineering building, in the Dean’s Office’s Conference room. That seemed to be where they were refering, as we were in there for the first (and FIRST) meeting.

The meeting will be in the 4th floor conference room. Even if you are not in college yet, but are interested and can make it out, come on and check it out!!
