Versaframe-ish gussets and mounts from a water jet sponsor

This off season my team asked our very generous sponsor IRC aluminum to cut some versaframe-ish gussets for us for use in prototyping. This included a lot of the basic gussets (90-degree etc.) along with a host of the flat gussets designed to hold bearings, with a few notable modifications. The 90- degree gussets were modified such that a versa hub could slide over them and be used at the end of the tube for drivetrains that required this. The 217-4183 (versaplanetary face bearing mount)was modified so that you could couple two of these gussets together to incorporate multiple 82 tooth gear spacings by just putting them next to each other, or on top. This makes them not exactly 2 inches wide but it makes larger reductions possible. Finally, the side bearing mount (217-3553) was modified to be 2 inches wide so as to fit onto the end of a box tube more easily. Thoughts on this?

P.S. we plan to have more cut in the season for use on our competition robot.

All of that sounds cool, but I think photos would really help people understand what you are describing.

Can you post some drawings, photos or cad files to look at? Our team is in the process of doing the same with laser cut plywood gussets for prototyping and had a few ideas for other potentially useful gussets- although have not made any of the new designs yet.

I’ll send some photos ASAP, as well as cad files
