Vertical vs Horizontal Flywheel Shooters?

I haven’t seen any threads on this so far, so I wanted to ask in general, is there a particular shooter design that you guys have figured out is more consistent/powerful? We have tested both shooter designs with the following specs:

Vertical Wheels (Top-Down Rollers): 4" horizontal compression, .25" vertical compression
Horizontal (Side Rollers): 5" compression, no vertical compression

We haven’t seen too much of a difference between the designs, but we also haven’t tested the designs with motors, only drills, so we are shooting from very close to the speaker, and any differences in consistency probably would not be noticed from such a short range. I have seen a trend leaning towards more vertical wheeled shooters so far, so I wanted to ask if anyone has found any big differences between the two.

We have found vertical wheels had more power and did noticeably less damage to the game piece in our testing.
