Hello CD,
I have some questions about the Vex Pro Single Speed, Single Reduction Gearbox
- How do these mount?
- Can they mount on VersaFrame?
- Are they any good?
That is all,

Here is the assembly manual, it’s got some good pictures so you should be able to work out how you want to mount it.
Lots of robots have this on them, it’s a popular choice.
I don’t have experience with Vex pro single speed gearboxes, but the WCP SS 3CIM gearbox worked well with our versa chassis last year, in a West Coast drive configuration. I can’t imagine that the Vex Pro box would be too dissimilar.
These are a fantastic, simple option.
They have been a favorite of 558 for years.
They mount with a bearing plate that goes inside of the 2X1, inserts into a hole in the gearbox plate, and bolts together, sandwiching the 2X1 between the two.
As versaframe has 2x1 options, the wcp gearbox will work with versaframe after it is milled to fit the holes needed. https://imgur.com/gallery/VBEUI
Very good. They are precision machines, look pretty dandy, and have many gearing options.
edit: just realized I was talking about the wrong gearbox, but I totally 100% recommend the one I was talking about! https://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/motion/gearboxes/wcp-ss.html
