The VEX Robotics All-Star Challenge at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex has a webcast linked on http://RobotEvents.com front page. The All-Star Challenge is a qualifier for the VEX Robotics Competition World Championship, with the top teams earning an automatic spot.
I honestly prefer the FIRST animations.
I’m not a fan of the flying robots.
Anyway, after the first day, here’s all the ranking info I have (from our team members in Florida):
254A is 7-0 and is ranked first.
254A is first in Robot Skills Challenge
254S is second in Robot Skills Challenge
Hi guys, my name is Cody Smith. I was given the amazing opportunity to create the 2009-2010 Vex game animation after winning the “Design a Game Animation” online challenge with my submission, Tetra Triad.
I worked through the entire summer to put Clean Sweep together with very few resources and next to no help. I know that there were a few issues with that animation, most of them were due to a last minute crisis.
Thanks so much for your support!
I was purposely told, by IFI, to make robots that could complete the challenge but would not give away potential designs. I am not a fan of FIRST’s plunger and/or boot kicker robots. I attempted to combine realistic looking robots with unrealistic mechanisms so that both my client and the viewers would be happy.
I still owe you that cookie! I was volunteering at the Disney event, lots of fun and overall the competitions went rather well.
