The Blue Alliance
The Blue Alliance - Match Archives

In addition to bringing you video tutorials, The Blue Alliance has assembled an archive of match videos from competitions across the country. You can use these videos to help scout for competitions and to see how your own robot performed. Most matches are also labeled with the teams playing and the score of the match, allowing for easy searching using the box on the right. If you want, you can download higher-quality versions of these videos to your computer.

We’re still working on populating our records with matches, especially from the upcoming 2007 season. Updating our databases with match information will take a bit of time after the regionals, but we’re excited about the potential of this system.

What do you guys think? Is this something you will use this season?

Check it out, and stay tuned!

I fear for your bandwidth bill, but this is pretty dang awesome.

Are there plans to keep older seasons online as new ones come?

It is a conievent source. the only thing i would change is the camera angle to a more central position or multiple camera angles

I like it a lot. I think that you should put a paypal help button on it because many people will be able to donate to a cause where we get an archive of EVERY match from EVERY regional. Also this is a great way to preserve the history of teams as well as the FIRST competition.

Are you guys planning to let the public download every video? If you need help hosting videos or something just let me know. Also if you are running out of space PM me I have a solution to greatly reduce the amount of space your videos will take up because I have encountered a similar problem with one of my projects.

Anyways good work, and good luck guys!

Pavan.

I know our team would really like to have access to something like this. Our scout team was really iffy this year and we don’t have much to go by. I’d also like to see it to learn from the mistakes we may have made.

Day one of week one regionals is now online.

We don’t have video yet, but you can check out the match and team searching functionality. We should have footage by the end of the weekend.

Very Nice website and portal!

Greg, were you able to incorporate any of the tagging code I sent you yet? Anyways this looks really good so far. The only thing I can see is your banner is now The Red Alliance.

I haven’t started rolling that in yet, but the database will eventually support it. As it is now, everything is very tightly coded for this specific application. I hope to be able to add things like “tworamphigh” later and such.

We should have video up by the end of the weekend. We’re really excited.

Wow guys, I’m loving the overall setup. Very, very efficient. I can’t wait to see how this continues with the video uploads. How are you guys planning to get video from all of these regionals? Have you been doing recordings on-site or are you doing it remotely via the webfeeds? I was mostly wondering due to the inherent issues with connections on the webfeeds. Keep up the great job guys, this could be an amazing tool.

With the amount of time and money that goes into the SOAP108, why create a redundant website? I see that the TSA archive has some new features, but do you have any plans to collaborate with SOAP?

Not all of the matches in VCU are on the TBA website. Also, what is the link to SOAP that worldbringer mentions?

Thanks,

They have only a few up now, but thats where everything will be at some point as far as I know.

i really like what you guys are doing. the sight and database setup is really great. im waiting for that video, which will be a huge help for scouting in advance. when will week 1 regional video’s be up?

We can’t use any video we don’t have permission to, so e-mails are out asking the owners of various first week video if they are willing to work with us on this project. I do have permission from Jonathan Norris to use video from BAE, but the results for the regional aren’t on FIRSTs site. I am going to wait a few days to see if they come up, and if they don’t I will just it in without tagging.

So while we’re waiting on permission for VCU and St. Louis, and scores for BAE, and anyone who recorded PNW, I do have good news! I have a bunch of NJ video that I just need to convert and flash and then that will be on the site!

So stay tuned! (and if you’re going to regionals in the next few weeks, planning on recording the matches, and want to help us out, PM me!)

Video of all the elimination matches exccept for a few quarterfinals is viewable online now. It will be downloadable once I get a chance to encode the videos to be smaller.

Hopefully we will have video from other events shortly. If you have any video you can share with us, let me know!

Just thought I’d bump this back up to let everyone know about our progress.

We now have over 800 videos available to watch on The Blue Alliance Match Archive System. That’s a ton!

We’re starting to gather video from previous years to add to the system too, so you can check out your team’s previous robots as well.

If you have any video from this year or last year, let us know and we’ll work with you to get it on the site.
