i dont know if anybody else is having this problem, but i cant view the scholarship .pdf files on the FIRST site. is this a bug? or am i doing something wrong? i used to be able to view all the files, but when i open the link it opens a separate window with an icon in the upper left corner. i have everything configured right, it just wont let me view the scholarship files. somebody help me out here PLEASE!!
Try right-clicking the link and choosing Save Link As… or Save to disk… or some other such thing. PDFs are usually pretty big, and I normally have better luck downloading them and opening them in the actual Acrobat Reader application instead of just using the plug-in.
[edit]
BTW, I’m not having any troubles viewing them using either method. What speed connection do you have?

.pdf is an adobe reader file, you need to get acrobat to read it, its a free download
i have 56k, maybe ill try saving it to disk. before i would just click on the link and it would open it right up for me, but now it doesnt.
aw this why I love my mac

Actually you used to be able to open .pdf files by clicking on them but now you have to save them to the computer.

Huh? I can still open them by just clicking. The only reason I recomend saving them is because that way you can watch the download progress.

im not going to get into a mac/ pc debate but can we stay on subject?
Yeah- same thing happened to me- and i"m running on a dsl
Sometimes it depends on how the site sends the files, rather than what connection you have or computer you use. For example, in the white papers section, I had to change the headers of the download script, so in most cases it will prompt you to save the file, rather then open it up in your browser.
Note the ‘download’ and ‘force-download’ headers being sent before the file is sent.
header("Content-Type: application/octet-stream");
header("Content-Type: application/download");
header("Content-Type: application/force-download");
header("Content-Type: ".$MIME$paper[filetype]] );
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$filename");
header("Content-Length: ".filesize("$name"));
header("Pragma: no-cache");
header("Expires: 0");
