I know that 405 is not competing with their own robot this year, but 422 has accepted their seniors onto our team in order to allow them to still attend the competition during their senior year.

It’s odd seeing the list as it is. So many of the Carolina Teams are gonna be at their event. Some big local names are gonna be elsewhere. But still gonna be a full house as always.

Looking forward to it in two weeks.

Yep, tied for the biggest event of the year, even with two major in-state teams in Raleigh. This is the biggest field since Rack n Roll.

almost here

3015 is excited! We make the 9 hour ride down on Wed. This is our first time in VA and look forward to working with all the great teams.

Mr. Gallina

Looking forward to being with all our great friends at VCU once again. We learned a great deal at Palmetto and are now ready to play.::rtm::

Team 195, The CyberKnights are excited to be coming down to VA. Packing the trailer tomorrow night and heading down early wednesday morning. We are looking forward to our first time in VA and getting to meet many of the teams down there. Best of Luck to all!

ILITE Robotics (Team 1885) can’t believe we arent going to be able to be there this year to join you all. Registration just didnt work out, with the event being so popular this year.

Keep an eye out though, there should be a couple of our purple shirts wandering around anyways, as a few mentors wanted to head that way to help teams in the pits, even if the entire team couldnt be there.

Everyone else on the team will be watching the webcasts with excitement as they are projected on the wall of our lab.

Good luck to all the teams this weekend.

FIRST Team 422 will probably be dropping off their robot after the crushing 3 minute drive from school to the Siegel Center around 7:30 Wednesday night. I’m excited to be back in Richmond for the weekend!

I just want to say thank you to ILITE for sending people yesterday. They help is greatly appreciated. The help from all of the teams that are willing to help others in need.

We’ve seen several third level climbers. A few matches where the frisbee firing squads took the field. Just an overall fun event so far.

I know I speak for all of 1403 when I say this was a phenomenal event. Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and teams that made this event so great. Congrats to the chairman’s award winner 384 and the EI winners 540. Also congrats to the winners 1541, 1262, and 1610, you guys were amazing when you played together and deserved the win. 3015, 2363, and 2053 you played some amazing matches and were a pleasure to watch. Lastly we would like to thank our phenomenal alliance partners, team 401 and 1895, we had some great matches…putting up 145 points without fouls was fun to be apart of. Unfortunately the fun had to end, but we are glad we took the trip down to Virginia and would like to thank everyone who was apart of the event.

This was a great event. Team Talon 1598 would like the thank everyone involved from Pattie Cook to the frisbee counters to the bag checkers at the door  . We would like to especially thank 540 (the other Talon) and 527 for picking us to be a part of your alliance. I would like to congratulate the winning alliance of 1541, 1262, 1610. I think I heard we might have been on your list, but I will have to say you got the better robot with 1610. We are very good friends with 1262 and 1610 and feel like we won when they did. 1262 – glad the hose clamp we gave you fixed your shooter  . It was great to be standing with Hank when they won and to see Liz jump up in the stands. Kyle – enjoy your steak dinner. I told my scouts Friday night that the winning alliance would include 1262, 1610, or 1541 – I had no idea they would combine for the perfect storm. See everyone next year.

In one way or another I’ve been involved with FIRST for 11 years. Barring one Match in the Quarterfinals on Archimedes in 2005, that was perhaps the best elimination matches I’ve ever seen. There were no 3 level climbers but at the end of the day, it was epic. Almost no penalties. Constant shooting.

1541, 1262 and 1610, you guys Had to fight to win. 1403, that 5 disc shooter was incredible.
To the 2 three level climbers, I was in awe each time.
195, way to snipe the top goal. I hope we got you guys set to stun them at your next event.
Sparky, again, well earned award.

To all the teams and my fellow volunteers going to St. Louis, I’ll hope to see you there.

Does anyone have any of the Finals Footage from the VA Regional on Youtube or uploaded?

My little brother (driver for 1541) gave me a shout out before the last match from the Announcer and I would love to see the footage as I was unable to watch it due to the internet being down at the time.

Thanks.

This was really a great regional this year. They didn’t run out of food…lol, we had a good spot in the pits and we were right across from one of the tv screens so i could watch from there. Jeff Seaton did a great job as usual.
Thanks go out to all our sponsors (especially Ed Ketz from BAE where i work
as they not only help support us financially, but he also helps me get paid time
off so i can go and help the team). Thanks go to Dan and team 1598 for rooting for us. I hadn’t hoped it would have come to it, but we ended up playing against
2363 in eliminations again (we had at Palmetto) We had shared a bus and hotel with them while there and every one from Matt Wilbur on down on that team are class acts…and they had a wonderful alliance with 3015 and 2053. I did’nt know if our alliance could beat them with them being so strong. And finally i’d like to give congrats and thanks to our alliance partners 1541 and 1262. The three of us came together and worked as a team and played hard and won. Hopefully we’ll see each other (hopefully on the same side of the playing field) at St. Louis.

Paul… While video of the matches aren’t up yet…here is some video Matt Glennon shot of the allances shaking hands…https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151510740542485&set=vb.529452484&type=2&theater
There are lots of pictures on our teams facebook page too.https://www.facebook.com/FRC1610?group_id=0

Thank you! I really appreciate that!

I just uploaded some video of the finals shot by one of our parents, from the stands. Unfortunately, your shout out was during the handshakes.

The finals matches are up on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=(https://picasaweb.google.com/109992844858216450198/2013VirginiaRegional), though these are mostly of our team and our alliance partners. Others may be able to spot yourselves in the crowd shots…

I saw that. I was the other shout out.

I too would like the video.

Congrats on winning.
