Viva Las Vegas!!1!

So, who’s planning on going to the Las Vegas regional?

Team 294 probably won’t be competing at Las Vegas, but we might send a few volunteers.

Alaina,

Team #64, the Gila Monsters, are hoping to attend the Las Vegas Regional. We hope to bring several experienced parents (workers from the AZ regional) to volunteer. Vegas is a great town but more importantly, Vegas has great FIRST teams!

HECK YEAH VEGAS HAS GREAT FIRST TEAMS! But its all about team 987, we started up the first FLL team in Nevada, and we are trying to get more FIRST teams in LV. We will DEFINETLY be at our homecoming regional. I think i appreciate this regional more than any other student in Las Vegas, because i probably am one of the few remaining LV students that have been involved since the 2002 season (LV’s rookie year), and i AM the only person on my team that has been on the team since 2002 (everyone else graduated in 02 or 03). I often wonder if Team 989 from Palo Verde HS is competing, i dont even think any of their team members are on CD

Anyway - The Thomas and Mack Center at UNLV is a great stadium, it seats 20,000 for basketball, and is very clean in the inside. Its also located less than 5 mins from the Strip. I can’t wait.

:frowning: You guys get to have a competition in vegas - a much cooler city to be in than orlando. I have never been to vegas and would love to go there.

haha yeah, ive been to orlando 3 times… once for FIRST at the 02 Nats, it was fun… but ive only seen disneyworld and universal studios, never been anywhere else in the city really. Vegas is great, and in march/april, the weather will be perfect. too bad its the smallest regional, the T&M is a pretty big arena.

Is there really going to only be 24 teams in the regional?
That’s awfully small.

Remember that the numbers listed on the FIRST Event List web page do not necessarily reflect the total number of teams that will be able to sign up for the event. When registration is opened, FIRST typically holds slots in reserve for each event to allow assured access to a certain number of rookie teams. Also, for each of the NASA-sponsored events (Cleveland, Portland, St Louis, Annapolis, Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, Lafayette) they hold 10 or 20 slots for the teams that will be receiving grants to attend those events.

Sorry to bring this thread back, but it’s now official that Team 1110 will be attending the Las Vegas Regional.
