VLC Kickoff Viewing Package

I was putting together a package of software to view the kickoff on vlc tonight and thought I might as well share it with the CD community.

The file is large because it INCLUDES vlc completely as well as ffmpeg which is used to stream the video (And I give both of the creators of these great programs complete credit for them! Thanks sooo much for keeping these programs free!)

download a zip of it all here

Inside you will find the root of a VLC install where a “run.bat” will be. Just running that should bring up NASA TV!

Note It uses the 32 bit ffmpeg by default for max compatibility, so if you want the 64 bit version, just open up the bat file in notepad and change the START of ffmpeg32 to just ffmpeg

Also I am not sure if the RTMP lick to the ustream stays the same, so in the even that it changes and NASA TV does not begin to play/errors on start look in OldStreamUpdate.txt for how to update that rtmp address.

Im providing this AS IS people! Have fun at the kickoff!

Can someone tell me why I would want to use this instead of viewing it the way most will be? This sounds like a good plan (VLC always is), but I just can’t come up with an answer to “why?”

Unsure David?

We’ll be watching it at our kickoff but:

is also pretty darn legit and easy for parents and kids to go to.

I know you are probably looking to help, but if you take a step back and look at this for a second from 10,000 feet, you’ll see this looks really sketchy. 99 out of a 100 times when someone re-bundles something into an executable file and posts it on the internet, it has some sort of virus/malware/adware bundled with it.
