Voltage drop when running shooter / worried about brownout

We are new to building shooters and are looking for some best practices.

What we seem to be observing right now is our voltage drops to about 10 volts when we spin up our shooter wheels. Running two Neos at 100% power.

Is this normal, or is this a problem that teams solved 10 years ago that we are seeing for the first time?

Looking for some advice.

Also, during auto, do teams typically keep shooters spinning constantly or start/stop between note pickups?

Thanks

Have you tried setting the controller for current limiting? It will take longer to spin up, but shouldn’t drop the voltage as much.

Just based on the sound, most teams spin their shooters up and down during the match. If spin up time is considerable, be sure to start that early enough so it’s ready when it’s time to shoot.

Can you provide a picture of the driver station log showing the voltage drop?
