Walmart

just wondering how many people out there shop at the GREAT
WAL MART

ohh man walmart sucks, not even getting started on their horrible business practices… they just suck as a store.

Not that i am unbiased seeing as i work at the great mighty red bullseye:) but walmart does suck, always dirty, cranky people, aisles are way to narrow, stock all over, messy, forget that stuff.
I’d rather show at kmart then walmart, but a super target trumps them all!

I’d select the “oh man… I wouldn’t buy junk there with your money” option.

Super Target has better sales

I’d shop at Ames

Whats that place

A de-funked department store. They went bankrupt in 2002. I worked there for 2 years in H.S.

I went to college and they called it quits.

I never used to shop at walmart. But when I came up to Williamsport for college I started to shop there, because I know that I can find what I am looking for there. I don’t know where else to find some things.

I wouldn’t spend a dime in Walmart.

Walmart is bad, very bad. I refuse to step foot in that place.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

There was a thread here on chiefdelphi a few days ago about “Home Depot” … and basically the ones who posted in that thread said, “there is no point of bashing at some store, and this is not the place to do it either.” I feel like that, this thread is putting Walmart down. There are atleast 2, 3 negative posts about Walmart in this thread.

Now back to the topic,

What I think is, Walmart has its advantages and disadvantages. But it is always depending on what you are looking for. For example, There were several times I stopped by Walmart in the morning to get packs of gums.

-Arefin.

Its a free market…if they have it for less, i’ll buy it.

I do go to Walmart depending on what I need especially since there’s one located only two miles from where I work.
Just two weeks ago they came in real handy. I was driving to work in the snowstorm and the drivers side windshield wiper on my Camry suddenly folded flat against the windshield. When I stopped to look at it the plastic clip that holds it on cracked so I stopped at Walmart and bought new wipers in the morning before work so I could at least see on the way home without having to lean over and look out the passengers side.
I also bought a coffee maker, the filters for it, and coffee. It comes in handy for our late night team meetings!

I used to never go to Wal-Mart.

Unfortunately, the siren song of low prices lured my broke college student self to them.

…and does everyone hit a massive line at the checkout, or is that just my store?

Usually, if I can get what I need somewhere else, I will. But since moving to Houghton, there’s not much of a choice. We have …

Walmart (soon to be a Super Walmart)
Shopko
Jim’s (liquor store)
Econo Foods
Festival Foods
A small mall (JCP, bookstore, Bath and Body Works, sports shop, Cost Cutters)

… and some restaurants. But as far as shopping goes, that’s it. You can either shop at Walmart (sometimes Shopko, but it closes at 8 pm) or take a whole day to drive to and from a decent sized city.

Oh, I didn’t choose an option on the poll. If I were to choose one, it would say, “I do shop at Walmart, but I’d rather shop somewhere else.”

Same here. Cheap = good when you have no money … and yes, I hit the big line at checkout too.

Walmart: Always low prices, Always long lines.

Woo-Hoo.

Katie is now a Michigander. It’s a proud and reputable thing. We even have our own speak - and we love it!

But I shop at Wal-Mart. Rember the bins of 2003? Where do you think I got ALL of them at? Their prices are good - and the one over here in the Taylor area is kept really clean/decent people/and the asles are bigger. Now K-Mart - I’ll never go in there. Rude, not clean, just all-around bad.

Not that I’d know; the K-Mart in my town closed two years ago because of Super Wal-Mart. Of course, it also broke up Dillions’ monopoly on groceries, so nobody really misses K-Mart.

Haha, I was born in and lived in Michigan 'til I was 7 … Not only do we have “Michigan speak” up here (from all the trolls :p) we have “Yooper speak” as well!! ((And no matter how long I live in Michigan, it’ll still be soda, not pop!!!)) We’re using a whole week in my Language & Society class to talk about the differences in speech between Lower Michigan, the UP and Wisconsin.

Same here!! I had bad K-Mart experiences when I was a kid. The K-Mart (in Midland, MI) was so gross and dirty … ew. Then, we moved to Appleton, WI and had dirty K-marts; they all closed 5 years after we moved. Now, I won’t shop there (though my mom swears that the K-Marts in Brookfield, WI are clean!!) :yikes:

As a college student i also shop at the super walmart, but you will never catch me in there atleast before 3am becasue i cant stand the amount of people there durint the day. So i will usually do my shopping there when i get off at work at 3

Every now and then I will go to Wal-Mart.
