Been thinking about this for a while and I’m finally going to get around to it. Is this white paper (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/1592) the most up to date info on building the CIM powered DeWalt transmission drive train? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

BTW Is a chiaphua motor the same as the CIM?

Chiaphua is the company that produces the CIM FR801-001 (The CIM from the KOP)
The cims really haven’t changed and, if you have the same type of transmission, it shouldn’t be all that different, even if it is a different revision. I’m sure we would have seen something if there was a major change due to the popularity of dewalts.
The process is the same. It looks like however, the availability of some parts may be a concern in the near future as Dewalt like many other manufacturers change and improve their designs.
Be careful not to spend time and effort on a design (part) that is being phased out.
BTW Dewalt has other transmissions - like the shown one that will do the same job… small changes in processes are required.
Our team used a dewalt transmission for the first time this year, and I can tell you how we accomplished it. Although, it was with a FP and not a CIM.
What we did was take a trip to the local dewalt store, with the list of parts from the white paper. Many of the parts had been phased out and had new versions availible and we ordered such. What was nice about being their in person was that the guy behind the counter could tell me what was going to fit together and what wasn’t. Then after a quick inspection to verify that the parts should fit together, we bought them.
The price was a bit more than the white paper suggested, running about 98 dollars.
