Was the vr field enough in 2019?

Now that we’re a couple weeks into build and teams have possibly made some wood field elements by now, how did everyone like having the vr field for kickoff this year?

Did you find it better, worse, about the same as going to a kickoff event with pre-built elements?

Did it change the way your team builds, conceptualize, strategize?

Was there some other facet of kickoff it changed for your team?

Personally, I found having the field was helpful and I loved having it, but maybe not as helpful as having objects we could touch. Specifically how small the rockets port is in comparison to the cargo. I think it would have made many students think about precision a bit sooner. I also found it was easier to view the field just looking on my phone than it was with any kind of headset.

We held kickoff away our build space rather than going to a kickoff location and although hectic, (our wifi was turned off because of winter break, but we found a way) it was nice to be in a familiar place close to home.

I think it would be helpful for us, but we don’t have a single bit of hardware high-end enough to run it.
