We were chatting about the Bumpers being flotation devices for next year’s game, when Big Al (the lead LRI) said he would be closely reviewing the bumper rules for next year. I take that as close as a confirm that he could give.
FIRST is dividing the championship because they couldn’t find a pool large enough for 600 teams… water game confirmed.
No, better. Space Game.
No no no…
2018 is Burrito Bash! (At the end of the page)
Yes, but…where is the actual water?
Under the actual boulders.

Right there inside the moat, obviously.
I’m waiting for FIRST’s 2018 game FIRST Zombie Run. Made specifically to hold events at 2 venues.
Teams have to venture en mass from one arena to another while dodging volunteers assigned as zombies to attack teams going to the other arena and attempt top steal their robots. Once they arrive at the other arena they are required to play 2016’s game with surviving robots using damaged defenses while zombies attempt to disrupt them. Teams must protect drive teams from the zombies using nerf guns, Points are deducted depending how many team members were “killed” by zombies and how many robots were stolen by zombies.
We actually considered trying that this year. Probably wouldn’t have gone over well with the inspectors though
Dean wants us to promote a bill.
Platypi have bills.
Platypi frequently swim in water.
Dean wants us to promote platypi.
Dean wants teams to build platypus robots.
Water Game Confirmed.
This thread seems a bit late… IIRC, there was a water game thread floating around after kickoff last year…
The excitement concerning a water game comes in waves.
I hope to be alive when it happens
Since 2004 I wished or a flying or a water game
2017, tugboat tumble!
I just heard from the GDC that, due to safety concerns, with the water problems they are having in the Flint/Detroit area, there won’t be a water game next year.
There should be a mini-bot flying drone end-game next year.

Sorry to have to point this out. Detroit doesn’t have water problem. Flint, on the other hand, does have water problems. Flint is an hour away from Detroit. The problem arose when they decided not to drink Detroit water. Just for your future reference.
That being said. Houston and Detroit are port cities. River race game confirmed.
Then why wasn’t our robot wet after passing through it? The “Bad Lip Reading” video had Woodie Flowers talking about mangoes. Mangoes are 83% water…
