Week 1 Robot Design Feedback

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great first week of the season!

I’m currently designing a basic robot structure and am feeling a bit stuck. If anyone has suggestions, I would really appreciate it!

This robot intakes coral from the ground if the coral is roughly parallel with the bumpers. It can also receive coral from the hp station in either orientation. This allows us to score L1-L3. The robot will have a Penn State style deep climb. It’s not pictured in CAD yet, but there will be a rotating cam on either side of the cage:

There are two problems I’ve noticed with this design:

  1. The COG is at the elevator instead of the cage centering device.
  2. When scoring coral on L2/L3 our bumper needs to be about 8" from the reef.
    (It would be much easier to align if we could simply ram into the reef.)
