We’ll be competing at San Diego, but I’ll definitely have an eye on CVR.

San Diego, Central Valley, and St. Joe- keeping up with the old team and friends, keeping up to date on California, and keeping up with the new team and seeing their competition in the Indiana district.

Gonna be watching the PCH Columbus event as much as I can because my old team is competing there. Otherwise Central Valley should definitely be interesting

Nope, Bloomington! I was back at home for a day for the Del Mar Regional though and after a day of travel back to college, going only for Sunday didn’t seem like a good idea.

If you’re not at an event, I’d highly recommend watching Finger Lakes. The event was already pretty competitive, but with the additions of teams displaced from Tech Valley and CNY the event is wild.

  • 340, 3015, and 2791 all have phenomenal, top tier robots this season
  • Debuts of upper mid-tier teams like 870, 3171, and 5254
  • NY’s large mid-tier is hella strong, with 1507, 1559, 1551, 1511, 1126, 1405, 639, 2638, 3003, 6300, 191, 4930 all playing
  • The event is also getting the Brazilian cohort of 1156, 1860, 1772, and 5800, as well as 120 from Ohio and 4150 from Pennsylvania. 1156 in particular has a knack for winning regionals they are very much not the favorite at.

Without counting a number of decent teams that you could argue fit into the mid-tier group above, I’ve already named 24 teams. Not all of the mid-tier teams I listed will be having their best seasons, but I know for a fact some already have fantastic machines (see: 1507, 1559, 1551).

I’ll be at the North Shore district event in Reading, MA (fingers crossed the event happens), but I’ll be following FLR with great interest.
