Illustration of a Robot Painting the Universe: A robot sits on a floating asteroid, holding a giant paintbrush. Instead of paint, the brush drips with stars, galaxies, and cosmic dust. The robot is meticulously painting the universe, adding stars and planets with precision. Surrounding the robot are various celestial bodies, including a planet with rings that glow in rainbow colors and a comet with a shimmering, golden tail. The sticker has a glittery background, reminiscent of the night sky, and the words ‘Crafted by AI’ glow in phosphorescent letters at the top.
I had worked on a DALLE image I really liked a couple of weeks ago and had it turned into a shirt with rush order tees. That came in this week and I love how it turned out
My other wins, we had a demo at work for a customer Tuesday that went good. We had a few more new students come in this week. Our FIRST payment was sent in by our district on time!!! That’s something we always have issues with due to the PO approval process in district taking weeks of back and forth.
My last win is all our of CAD/CAM students finally have combined Team access to our shared fusion 360 team. For several meetings even though they were added new students were unable to see student folders, last years models, etc but veteran students were fine. It was driving me crazy. Finally this last meeting when they logged in everything was fine. I don’t know what changed but maybe it was just a caching issue. Either way all good now!
Our school gave us a display case for all our awards! That’s a big accomplishment in terms of increasing awareness within our school about robotics. Also we got auto routines working with our new swerve drive!
More of a personal win, I got registered as CSA for another competition!
Also, I’m leaving today for the T-Town Burn Down in Toledo, a first annual hot sauce festival, where I will be shilling my wares. Should be fun and hopefully profitable!
That visible area is key! If you have the option to put up New Student recruitment posters or a digital picture frame (if you have power) you could also put up pictures from comp. Trophies are cool definitely. Our CTE building has a display case for each class and after school club/team like FFA, HOSA, SkillsUsa and FIRST. Each club/team uses those for trophies and recruitment materials. I’llLimelight, an integrated vision coprocessor see if I can get a picture of ours Tuesday.
Also awesome on registering to be a CSAControl System Advisor! You’re doing everyone a massive favor! Never enough CSAs when you need em
Although I don’t think the particulars are appropriate for this forum, I had an event this last Tuesday that had me an emotional wreck for a month and a half leading up to it. And it ended up going as well as I could hope for.
I’m picking up my lovely kids today, and we’re going to get a Christmas tree, decorate it with our individually addressable LED Christmas lights, do some gift shopping, and make cookies with my cousins. This past week really emphasized how grateful I am to be able to do all this with them.
Apparently I inadvertently lied a couple weekly wins ago. It wasn’t the last lawn mowing of the season. My wife mowed again yesterday. The grass is usually well dormant by now.
For my win, we had a community inter-faith Thanksgiving service this week. With all the turmoil in the world, it is reassuring that people from a half-dozen or more different faiths can come together to celebrate our thanks.
I’ve really been enjoying (FTC) Robot Inspecting with my daughter this fall and we have our 3rd go at it Saturday. After that she’ll Ref and I’ll FTAA.
[aside] FTC Robot Inspections are done on a tablet which automatically keeps everyone up to date on the inspection status of all teams – wish we had it in FRC
And I took my dog to Petco (her favorite place in the world ) last night. Replenished our supply of biscuits, and she picked out a special treat too (spoiler alert: it was beef tracheas). She was dancing the whole way home, so excited!
Ha. Yeah my lawn died for the second time this year. (Arkansas had a horrible dry summer) And now there is a weird line where the weeds I call a back lawn haven’t died as much. (Look I’m not going to pay to put in a nice lawn on the back half acre that’s silly)
There is an existing solution, don’t recall the name but it’s been discussed on CD. Been around since '16 at least. GMS, maybe? SoCal uses it yearly. There is some sort of fee as I recall, which may be why HQ doesn’t use it.
Bonus win, made it out to the Traverse City area to visit my Grandma and help her pack up and clean for moving. It’s beautiful up here. Gonna miss the farm but she’s ready for this definitely. Lots of my grandpa’s old wood shop supplies, tools, etc. to sort through. My goal is to be able to get it thinned out, sorted this weekend and clear a path to his old hand built work bench and reuse it at my house. It’ll be alot of work
Minus some minor electrical work I still need to do around the house, we have the Reno’s FINALLY at a point where we can start really moving in to the new place!
Painting the master bedroom. All this Drywall will be ripped out eventually, but in the mean-time even a single coat of this purple where you can kinda see the old color through it was way better looking than this dark green-blue.
Also work is going really well recently, which I assume is at least in part due to my new ADHD medication, only downside of which is it being 7x more expensive than my previous one (literally more than all my other maintenance medications combined)… Thankfully it looks like my insurance’s co-pays for medications are changing for next year and it should only be 4.5x more expensive at that point, which is much more reasonable for me to afford.
