(Note, this is not a representation of any of my cats, the eldest would only do that if it was marinara sauce…)
Thanksgiving is done, that means it is Christmas time, someone wake up Mariah Carey from stasis. Maybe for some of you that is a win in itself, but for the rest of us, who had some good wins this week?
My win, got to see my parents and brother. Which was nice. Now I have a very busy week ahead of me… oh and work too.
Started my new job at our local Shirt printing/embroidery shop, which has been a ton of fun! The pay is good and everyone here is really chill. I even get a stipend to make my own stuff which is awesome.
Went up to my uncle’s for thanksgiving and had a lot of good food, thanksgiving is always one of my favorite meals of the year.
Thankfully almost done with tryouts for my Splatoon team, but then comes the difficult part of deciding who I want lol.
Other than that I’ve just been chilling with friends and relaxing.
Went to get our Christmas tree this morning (and I managed to get down on the ground to cut it), and this afternoon our living room smells wonderful. Support your local farmers.
461 received a new toy thanks to a grant and a great black Friday sale! Excited to see how the MF2028-100 from Omtech works out for us. We confirmed operation this week, just waiting on the ventilation system to be installed now.
I think I am winning the fight with getting Google authentication working for more advanced functionality in Pairwise. That counts as a win, right?
Now saying that I may have just jynxed myself…
Edit: I take all of this back. I now absolutely loathe google for making things unnecessarily complicated and literately throwing extra things in the way called “speedbump” in the url … they can go to H**L.
I would love to know how this is any more secure than having two accounts (a personal and a workspace) use the same phone number.
Feel free to poke around. There is more content in the help pages. Everything should be good to go except the config and data input tools which are part of this auth fight. There are a few links to those so there is a chance some google errors pop up on a few links/buttons.
I have a nifty page on cognitive (and other) bias in scouting. Under “Help”. There is also a page on there on using ranked lists to generate Value Against Replacement (VAR) for dynamic alliance selection… Mostly just some math and theory. Probably needs some editing.
I have officially been looking for my own part time job! I already had one interview and I have another next week. It’s highly likely I’ll be a swim coach in addition to doing robotics stuff. But we’ll see what happens this upcoming week.
Also, I’ve been more open about wanting to call people as that’s my only social interaction during quarantine. So I’m proud to put myself out there.
Odd week with the holiday, but still managed to pack some wins in. The Lions won twice in the same week (almost gave it away though), this caused the Chicago Bears coach to be fired.
From a stats perspective the Lions are having their best regular season ever by Win% at 91%, currently beating their previous regular season record of 83% when they won the national championship in 1953 (pre-super bowl era). If they keep it up with another win it’ll be a tie for most wins in a season as well.
At work we hired an additional application engineer to help alleviate some of the pressure from the current Application
Engineers (all 2 of us… Now 3). We both have been on the road, or on the phone doing training and installation/integration support daily, seperately to cover more ground at once. Today we both finally had a break to catch up at the office on paperwork and figure out what all we missed while most everyone else worked from home or took the day off to shop the deals.
Next week I’ll be starting at the next customer site with the new engineer for training for most of December so I’ll get to see lots of cool different industrial automotive manufacturing machines and integrate several with AI vision. Maybe I’ll get some inspiration for this year’s game?
I “fixed” a couple at the train club today… by running them over with a model train. Works for me.
Had a good week at work, spent yesterday recharging myself (and hanging out with my parents), then wandered to the club today for a day of solo running (which was joined by another member who’d had a similar idea). Think I figured out why one of my locos wasn’t 100%, and how to deal with it.
I think I’ll have more after tomorrow…TSO finally moved their SoCal shows closer to population than Ontario, CA, so I’m heading over to see them in person!
What a week! I managed to pull through two physics midterms right before Thanksgiving. I spent the next days off with my family and friends.
I set up our email system and wrote my first real newsletter. Also, been working on a cool short video about me and I’m super proud of it. It’ll be posted in the next few days.
Really excited for winter break and the holidays, this week has only been a little taste
I cooked dinner for my boyfriend for the first time! I surprised him with chicken, pasta, and cookies last weekend. He loved it and now wants me to cook for him again. I was super anxious about preparing everything right but in the end it was so worth it.
Thanksgiving was my immediate family, 2 cousins, and their dog Theo this year. It’s been fun to see my sister and relatives again after so long. I get 1 more full day with my parents and sister before we all go back to living our lives.
Here are some photos of Theo - I wasn’t going to skip the dog tax! He’s a good boy and I loved having him around.
