Weekly Wins 2-04-2022

Seemed appropriate since I think a lot of folks had snow days this week…

So, by now you know the deal - anything positive you’d like to share or anything in general you’d like to celebrate with the CD community?

For me - I got a very positive shout out from leadership at my company (well, local leadership, the whole company is like 1/4 the population of Wyoming) for some work I’d taken on. Win win cuz the work was fun when I was doing it too.

Team Win: Despite missing 2 meetings due to a winter storm, this week we got all of our robot parts back from anodizing (something something all black for superior performance) and we are ready to start final assembly.

Personal Win: This year’s minibot is mostly done and achieved its first climb this evening. Mini Rowdy 22 can pickup and shoot as well as hang. Transitioning from bar to bar should come online by the end of the weekend. This is the earliest I’ve gotten the half scale version done before we’ve built the big one.

I got to see my mom’s cousin and his kids(Mete) this week. I’ve been promising him for like 6 weeks that I would come see him “next week”, and I just haven’t had time, and I finally was able to make time this week  I also got automatic cat feeders so that my poor kitties will have regular food from now on, not random food when I am home, and when I go on trips they’ll be ok for a while

While I was walking to Mete’s house I got to watch a High Speed train and two full length, 225m long 10-car 50-door Marmaray Commuter trains pull into WillowFountain Station. Most of the trains in İstanbul are underground because of the terrain, Marmaray is the only above-ground metro line, and it shares tracks with the high speed trains (3 tracks). WillowFountain Station feels a little bit like what I imagine Tokyo would be like  so that’s fun for me. https://youtu.be/YpY_V0BXkyk

Also, my two cats decided to share the perch next to my bed for the first time since Düğme joined the house, and that was really cool.

Edit: Also, I forgot, this Friday was annual population release day in Turkiye - My neighborhood gained 10.000 people per square mile, rising to 160.000/sqmi (I’m a nerd about these things)
