Who has some wins this week? Robot doing well? Robot not doing poorly? Doing poorly but you have a plan or an idea? It’s all good.
My win - for the first time in a while feel confident that the robot will work out (ok, a while, I haven’t really been involved in an FRC team since 2019)
Got the robot wired up, and with absolutely zero power testing beforehand everything actually worked! We are still missing some auxiliary cameras and stuff, but thats fine. Considering its the first time we used cablesnake and elevator in years, its very good nothings broken, although I may replace some 10 gauge with 12 guage.
Remade all our batterys in prep to remake them again
Cleaned the shop a bit.
Wrapped up a bunch of projects and work in all my classes, so the breaks looking relatively clear for robot stuff.
Also a win from the end of January that I forgot to put until now (sorry), I won the PTSA Reflections literature competition at my school, meaning I theoretically advanced to states! Also turns out I accidentally wrote a very similar story to Middlesex.
Nothing has caught on fire.
Power hasn’t been connected to a lot of stuff, but it’s not on fire. So: win.
SubWin: realized I under-ordered gears from REV, but we have alternate gear pairs that’ll work until order shows up. 60-20 vs 64-16.
Well, our alpha bot is FIRMLY in the hands of the programmers now, and some pretty big and fast strides are being taken with it.
Next version of bot has some… very, very, VERY complicated parts (thanks CAD) that are almost to the level of what i saw on Jack in the Bot’s 2023 robot over the summer, so they’re definitely possible but they’re gonna take longer than i think most of the non-CNC people know. But hey at least the next version is basically fully CAD’d
Personal… win? maybe? Got wisdom teeth out today which i guess is a win for the future but it is NOT a win for right now. rather unfortunate timing for me to need to be out right as we get the next wave of parts but i’ll probably be back tomorrow. At this point i just really want to get back to driving and am looking very anxiously towards Hueneme.
I got my team’s Impact Award submitted roughly a 3 hours before the deadline. That ended up being closer than I would like!

I forgot to mention this in my original post, and this is less of a win and more of a funny story: My physics teacher absolutely lost it (in a controlled and silly way) when he was trying to explain that the phrase “righty tight, lefty loosey” isn’t actually accurate, and some students wouldn’t believe him. For the first time in my life I felt truly seen and related to his argument immensely.
Finally getting our robot to the point where we can program subsystems and autos. We’ve been running into very strange issues with rio memory and motors not working, so it was super gratifying to finally start to see things working, especially since we’re at a week one comp this year

Lost the swimming pool at work.
That would be because said “swimming pool” was a loading dock full of rainwater, and we lost it because I fixed the sump pump that was supposed to be draining the dock!
Racing is back.
(just ignore that its once again trying to rain during most of it)

Should blue alliance be posting links to the week 0 event streams? Would be nice to go straight there and find it instead of a wild goose chase on other sites, never watched week 0 before though so I don’t know these things. But definitely @ me if you have a link for your guys event. I’ll be rooting for you guys
