Weekly Wins 2-19-2021

It’s that time again. What’s going well? Did you launch something new at work? Get great feedback? Pass a test? Even if you just managed to get out of bed every day this week (it’s been cold) let’s hear it so we can all celebrate it.

My win. The printed swerve is coming along and I’m enjoying documenting things more and have managed to put a ton of small things into it to make the parts easier to print.

Despite the dumpster fire that is the Texas grid, I managed to not lose power/gas/water this week. Couldn’t go anywhere and my internet was even less reliable than usual, but I didn’t lose anything that affected my survival.

I was lucky and never lost power or water this week, just need grocery stores to stock back up now. Hopefully everyone else here in Texas has been okay.

Also Jake Arrieta has come back to the Cubs.

Ordered a new Thinkpad P15 at a great price! My W540 from 2013 is still going strong for most things, but I am noticing some issues from time to time where the CPU struggles to keep up with me, plus the newer Thunderbolt docks generally work well with Linux and would be a better solution than my current Bandwidth starved e-GPU setup for work.

Edit: Also only lost power for about 3 hours total in North Louisiana. As I look out my window everything is still covered in Ice.

I gave my 60-day notice to my landlord - at the end of April I’ll be moving somewhere I can have a dog, which has been a goal for a long time!
