I got to spend some lovely time working outside (on computer that is).
I’ve written my first programming spec, and I’m really happy with how it has turned out.
I’m going to get Vietnamese food with my roommate later tonight. We had his homecoming celebration last Friday night. We celebrated by eating churros while watching the washers at a local laundry mat.
Cool things wise: I got to see my first grand-slam in person last fathers day!
I ended up finding a condo I really liked sooner than I expected, made an offer, somehow managed to not get outbid, and am expecting to close in about a week and a half. The escrow process has been stressful… there’s no reason for anything to fall through at this point but it has still been keeping me up at night. The chip shortage has made planning out a home network a bit difficult.
Mid-internship performance review went well! I’m loving the work, and I feel like I’m right where I’m supposed to be. The days go by so quickly. Also, we had a big off-site social with my team that ended up being tons of fun.
Buying (and selling) a house is always stressful. Best advice I have - relax as you can. Checklists are great tools for this. And stay in touch with your realtor often.
Just remember - everyone involved wants the process to happen because the realtors only get paid if it does.
My daughter taught our first ever prototyping camp this week. Much was learned and much fun was had. Big thanks to Spectrum 3847 Blog: Protopipe: Rapid Prototyping System as we used their protopipe concept and it worked great!
Went to my first in-person robotics meeting since March 2020 on Saturday! I got to meet a couple of this year’s rookies in-person for the first time, and they’re finishing up the Fall Project robots we didn’t quite finish in the fall, and we made huge progress cleaning out the loft.
Steam summer sale allows me to afford games that I normally wouldn’t be able to buy. From the wise words of The Hulk from Avengers: Endgame, “I see this as an absolute win”.
We had the first meeting of our robotics non profit in over a year…and found enough folks to fill enough board positions that we can keep going. We don’t have much of our team left, but there is enthusiasm to get it going again. That’s good.
-Got my top choice for Housing and Freshman Pre-Orientation Program
-A prototype for a product I’m designing for the Navy worked surprisingly well at work, so hopefully that’ll be done soon.
-Also that tube clamp from last week is incredibly strong (hopefully a test and post to come this week)
